“The Lineage of Tathagata” is a series of teachings explaining Lotus Sutra, conducted by Master Dao Yi of Yu Garden in the summer of 2016 in Vandana Monastery’s Main Hall.
[Long ago there was an old Bodhisattva who tied seven scrolls of the Lotus Sutra to his body. Someone asked him: what are these scrolls you are carrying? Old Bodhisattva replied: they are letters from home.
After leaving our original self to wander for decades, “Lineage of Tathagata” is like a letter from home, calling us to return to where we came from. It is like a map leading us to our prime nature.]
Master Dao Yi of Yu Garden delivers a fresh and detailed explanation of the profound messages enclosed in the Lotus Sutra.
Explaining complex concepts in a very approachable manner and delivering a wonderful aesthetic experience, “The Lineage of Tathagata” is a wisdom source for anyone who is craving for it.

Chapter five: Parable on Plants.

[Parable on the plants] teaches how to fully follow the way of Boddhisattva and learn how to become Buddha. Engage in creating unimaginably beautiful ideas and achieve the kindest fate of all.
The sprout symbolizes a new disciple, the young plant is an experienced one, the fully-grown plant goes for being a Buddha. The small tree is a metaphor for the certainty of attaining Buddahood. The big tree is a state of obedience to spiritual powers with a will of never denying it.
The rain is coming to water and nourish the three plants and both of the trees, making “My garden smile”, as put in words by former Indian president Abdul Kalam.
