“The Lineage of Tathagata” is a series of teachings explaining Lotus Sutra, conducted by Master Dao Yi of Yu Garden in the summer of 2016 in Vandana Monastery’s Main Hall.
[Long ago there was an old Bodhisattva who tied seven scrolls of the Lotus Sutra to his body. Someone asked him: what are these scrolls you are carrying? Old Bodhisattva replied: they are letters from home.
After leaving our original self to wander for decades, “Lineage of Tathagata” is like a letter from home, calling us to return to where we came from. It is like a map leading us to our prime nature.]
Master Dao Yi of Yu Garden delivers a fresh and detailed explanation of the profound messages enclosed in the Lotus Sutra.
Explaining complex concepts in a very approachable manner and delivering a wonderful aesthetic experience, “The Lineage of Tathagata” is a wisdom source for anyone who is craving for it.

Chapter ten: Teacher of the Dharma

The purpose of digging the well is to water the thirsty wanderers. But where to dig? How to dig? This is something that has to be mastered first. Dharma teacher needs to know how to find water and lead the way to the well. The water means the true nature, digging the well means seeing it.
Water, flowing somewhere within the depths of our hearts.
Arrogant yet unaware, we leave the depths of our hearts to climb up for goods which appear greater. But over time, we get thirsty for what is true within us. We want to drink the water and attain enlightenment. But what was once so close, in now so far away. So far away...
